In order to further strengthen international chemical exchange, the School of Marxism held an academic salon on "Global Environmental Sociology Hot Issues". International doctoral students in "Environmental Science and Engineering" at the School of Water Resources and Environment, doctoral students in "Environment and Social Development" at the School of Marxism, and international doctoral students have participated in the doctoral international exchange academic salon. The salon is chaired by Professor Jin Dongchang from the School of Marxism.
The academic salon event was held in two phases, with the first phase focusing on the discharge of nuclear contaminated water from Fukushima Daiichi, Japan. Yang Liang, a doctoral student from the School of Marxism, and Padam Raj Joshi, an international doctoral student from the School of Water Resources and Environment, were invited to share the topics "Reflections on Nuclear Pollution in Japan" and "Discharge of Radioactive Water of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant"; The second issue focuses on global climate change, inviting doctoral students Wang Zhaoqing from the School of Marxism and Susi Simanjuntak from the International Doctoral School to share the topics "Global Carbon Emissions" and "Carbon Emissions! What Can We Do?".
This international exchange academic salon closely focuses on international hot topics such as the discharge of nuclear contaminated water from Fukushima, Japan, and global climate change. It elaborates on the principles of environmental sociology and the current status of international cooperation contained in the hot events, and fully exchanges the above topics from the perspectives of environmental sociology, environmental science, and environmental engineering. All attendees reached an academic consensus that in order to solve global environmental problems, it is necessary to firmly establish and implement the concept of a "community with a shared future for mankind", deepen international cooperation and innovation, and implement the "common but differentiated responsibilities" through practical actions.
This international exchange academic salon has expanded and enriched the graduate talent cultivation methods of the college, which is of positive significance for further enriching and improving the construction of the doctoral program in "Environment and Social Development" of the college, and expanding the international perspective of talent cultivation in the college.
